New Zealand beat Pakistan by six wickets in Dunedin. With this, New Zealand have a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. It has been a convincing performance from the Black Caps, especially with the bat in the powerplay. The Dunedin weather caused a delay to start off proceedings in the NZ vs PAK 2nd T20I 2025 and the match eventually got underway, reduced to 15 overs per side. New Zealand's decision to bowl first was justified as Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals and were not able to stitch a big partnership that could have taken the score beyond the 150-run mark. Captain Salman Ali Agha (46) and Shaheen Afridi (22) ensured that Pakistan got a total of some substance. For New Zealand, Jacob Duffy (2/20), Ben Sears (2/23), Ish Sodhi (2/17) and James Neesham (2/26). With the ball, Pakistan had Shaheen Afridi bowl a maiden over right up at the start but that did not stop Tim Seifert (45) and Finn Allen (38) from going after the bowling in the powerplay. New Zealand smashed 66 runs in just 4.4 overs and later, Mitchell Hay (21*) and Daryl Mitchell (14) played cameos as New Zealand cruised to a win.

OUT! Daryl Mitchell has been dismissed and this time, Shadab Khan holds onto the catch. He made up for the drop earlier but New Zealand are just four runs away from a win, with 13 balls remaining. Daryl Mitchell c Shadab Khan b Haris Rauf 14(14)

18 Mar, 10:43 (IST)

Daryl Mitchell and Mitch Hay are guiding NZ to a comfortable win. New Zealand need 23 runs from 24 balls and unless Pakistan can trigger a collapse, the outcome is heading in New Zealand's way.

18 Mar, 10:33 (IST)

OUT! Haris Rauf gets his first wicket, dismissing Mark Chapman. New Zealand are close to a win here but Pakistan aren't making it easy. A brilliant bit of fielding from Pakistan. James Neesham c Abdul Samad b Haris Rauf 5(4)

18 Mar, 10:26 (IST)

OUT! New Zealand lose another wicket and it is that of Mark Chapman. Khushdil Shah has struck and this game is getting close, with the Kiwis needing 45 runs off 44 deliveries. Mark Chapman c Jahandad Khan b Khushdil 1(6)

18 Mar, 10:23 (IST)

OUT! Jahandad Khan accounts for Finn Allen! The right-hander attempted a wild swing but missed the ball which struck him on his pad. The on-field umpire gave it out and a DRS review confirmed it was umpire's call. Finn Allen lbw b Jahandad Khan 38(16)

18 Mar, 10:07 (IST)

OUT! Tim Seifert has been dismissed with Mohammad Ali accounting for him. The right-hander attempted to hit another big shot but failed to clear Shaheen Afridi who took a simple catch. It is Mohammad Ali's first wicket in T20Is.Tim Seifert c Shaheen Afridi b Mohammad Ali 45(22)

18 Mar, 09:57 (IST)

Tim Seifert and Finn Allen have bounced back remarkably well after the maiden by Shaheen Afridi, blasting 44 runs off four overs. Both the right-handers have smashed the ball with absolute disdain and Pakistan are under the pump once again.

18 Mar, 09:48 (IST)

Shaheen Afridi has started off with a maiden and it is a good start for Pakistan. New Zealand will look to make the most of the remaining four overs in the powerplay.

18 Mar, 09:32 (IST)

Pakistan have finished with 135/9 in 15 overs with Salman Ali Agha being the standout performer, hitting 46 runs off 28 deliveries. New Zealand's bowlers did well once again, not allowing Pakistan to get any sort of partnership that could have taken the score beyond 150. We will be back with the chase shortly.
