The fraud was discovered during loan recovery proceedings. The accused woman took an INR 1.2 crore business loan and offered her flat as collateral. However, she stopped responding to bank notices and defaulted on payments after making regular repayments in the beginning. It was also learned that the woman's husband helped her commit the fraud.
