Mumbai, September 4: Activist Ramesh Solanki on Tuesday filed a complaint against Netflix, the United States (US)-based online video streaming platform, for defaming Hindus and India. The complaint was filed at LT Marg police station in Mumbai’s Kalbadevi area. In his complaint, Solanki alleged that Netflix is producing content that has been trying to project Hindus and India in a bad light. According to reports, the Hindu activist will submit a copy of the complaint and a CD for video evidence to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Commissioner of Police and the Cyber Cell on Wednesday. "Almost every series on Netflix India is with the intention to defame Hindus. They are putting out content that's portraying our nation in a bad light, and it's being done in the name of freedom of expression,” reported DNA quoting Solanki as saying. However, until now, Netflix has not responded to the complaint against it. As per media reports, in his complaint, Solanki alleged that web series' Sacred Games and Leila are defaming Hindu religion. Similarly, the Shiv Sena IT Cell member also said that another web series Ghoul project the Indian Army in a negative way. According to the DNA report, Solanki termed Netflix’s The Patriot Act, a stand-up show by Hasan Minhaj, a propaganda over the abrogation of Article 370.
