Faridabad, August 4: There is no end to mob lynching across the country with a new incident being reported every second day. In the most recent case, a 25-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob in Haryana's Palwal on Thursday night on suspicion of cattle theft. The incident happened in Bahraula village of Palwal. The victim's two friends reportedly fled from the spot. There have been over 30 cases of lynchings in the country over the past two months.

According to the police, the man was untying cattle owned by one Shradharam in the late hours of Thursday, allegedly with the intention of stealing them. Some villagers saw him and raised an alarm, shouting 'thief, thief'.

Soon, a group of villagers assembled and beat the man to death while his friends escaped. The police have registered a case of murder against three persons, out of which one has been arrested and an investigation is underway. The victim is yet to be identified.

The incident comes days after Rakbar Khan, 28, was lynched by a mob in Alwar of Rajasthan on suspicion of cattle theft. 

Rakbar Khan, 28, along with his friend was taking some cows to his village through a forest near Lalawandi area in Rajasthan's Alwar district when some locals allegedly thrashed him brutally, suspecting him to be a cow smuggler.
