New Delhi, March 5: Admiral Sunil Lanba on Tuesday while speaking at Indo-Pacific dialogue, launched a veiled attack on Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism against India. Speaking at the conference, the Naval Chief said, “India, however, faces a far more serious version of this state-sponsored terrorism.” Referring to the February 14 Pulwama attack, he added, “We have all witnessed the horrific scale of extremists attack on the Indian state of J&K, just three weeks ago.”
Admiral Lanba accused Pakistan of aiding extremists for perpetuating violence to destabilise India. He further added that there were reports of terrorists being trained to carry out operations in various modus operandi including through the medium of the sea. The Naval chief also stated that the Indo-pacific region had witnessed multiple forms of terrorism in recent years and few countries in this part of the world have been spared by this cause. “Global nature which terrorism has acquired in recent times has further enhanced the scope of this threat,” said Admiral Lanba. The second edition of Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD) – 2019 is being held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The two-day seminar will end on March 6. The main aim of this dialogue is to engage the global strategic community in an annual review of India's opportunities and challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
