Bollywood is smitten with the remakes lately. Now, yet another rehash of a south film is being made starring Akshay Kumar. The actor is collaborating with Jagan Shakti for the remake of AR Murugadoss directed film Kaththi starring Vijay. The film will be titled as Ikka. In this massy remake, Akki will be seen in a dual role. The action thriller was earlier delayed to Mission Mangal, but finally is set to go on the floors soon. As per the reports in Mumbai Mirror, Jagan informed, "It will resonate with the underprivileged section of the society. With my second directorial, I want to explore action which is presented in a sleek way. Our story may be based on a true event, but the characters are fictional." The film is based on a person who helps the poor farmers against the MNC workers and their greed.

Meanwhile, Akshay is gearing up for his next big release which is Mission Mangal, on Independence Day 2019. Also, he recently announced the film Bachchan Pandey, by unveiling a brand new poster and his look for the film. While the fans speculate that it is the remake of Allu Arjun starrer South film Duvvada Jagannadham (DJ), no such confirmation has been made by the makers yet. He will also be seen in another south remake which is Laxmmi Bomb, opposite Kiara Advani. Are you excited for Akshay's next string of films?
